Dinner Lady V800 vs Geek Bar Disposables Reviewed

In the disposable e-cigarette market, Geek Bar have been top of the class for a while now —perhaps unfortunately for them, but certainly good news for consumers, award-winning flavour giants Dinner Lady have returned to the fold with the magnificent new V800 disposable vape.

The success of Geek Bar is understandable; rather than crop up as a “standalone” disposables brand, Geek Bar comes from Geekvape. An early innovator in e-cigarette technology more generally, Geekvape have gained stature in the industry as a go-to brand for hardware that’s both powerful and safe —all of which no doubt lent a little name-brand recognition and credibility to Geek Bar upon launch.

Dinner Lady Disposables are no shrinking violet on the vape scene either. This British brand is a name on everyone’s lips when it comes to flavour, having won a slew of industry awards year on year since inception, not least for their flagship Lemon Tart flavour. While primarily an e-liquid brand, Dinner Lady were also one of the first companies to explore the potential of the disposable e-cigarette.

Not a company content to rest on their laurels, however, Dinner Lady have returned to shake things up once again with the all-new V800 e-cigarette. So, things are gearing up towards a pretty important showdown; one of the industry’s leading hardware brands faces off against arguably the most premium e-liquid brand.

Reading this, you’re probably asking one simple question: which is better? Our blog will guide you through every aspect of these two titans of disposable vaping, from features to flavours, to make sure that you always get the best possible disposable e-cig experience to suit your needs.

  • 2ml capacity
  • 20mg strength
  • 550mAh battery
  • Approx. 800 puffs
  • Adjustable airflow

Feature Comparison
V800 VS Geek Bar

Let’s start things in a straightforward manner, with the features and basic technical stats for both the Geek Bar and V800 disposable vape. As disposable e-cigarettes, both devices share some common features.

In terms of strength and capacity, each is pre-filled with 2ml of 20mg nic salts, so you’re getting an equally strong nicotine kick from either device. 2% nicotine is basically the industry standard at this stage,so this is hardly going to be a deciding factor for most consumers. As you can see, though, the V800 wins out on puff range, delivering up to 800 draws where the Geek Bar tops out at around 575.

What’s all the more impressive is that it does so on a same capacity battery. E-cigarette technology has progressed, and we’re starting to see that newer devices can do more with less. If we’re being honest, the V800 does have a competitive edge here; being the newer of the two devices, it’s going to have more up-to-date tech.

An additional feature of the V800 disposable lacking in the Geek Bar is an adjustable airflow ring, allowing you to cycle between tighter and looser vape hits, depending on your preference.

A lot of disposable e-cig users may find they can take it or leave it, but it’s definitely a welcome addition for those who sometimes feel their vape isn’t quite hitting the spot. In either case, it’s a nice bonus; you don’t have to make use of it, but it’s there if you want it. On that note, we’ll now move into the overall design and ergonomics of these disposables.

  • 2ml capacity
  • 20mg strength
  • 550mAh battery
  • Approx. 575 puffs
  • Fixed Airflow
  • Cylindrical Body
  • 135mm x 37mm x 17mm
  • Quad-Tapered Duckbill Mouthpiece
  • Separate Mouthpiece, Airflow Ring
  • Sleek, Matte Black Finish

Ergonomics Comparison
V800 VS Geek Bar

While the look-and-feel of a device may seem less important than puff count or flavour options, it’s worth bearing in mind that you’ll be carrying this device around and putting it to your lips a fair amount throughout any given day.

Appearances matter, so you’ll want something you feel good about holding and using. An early innovator in disposable vapes, Dinner Lady have historically skewed toward a cylindrical, cigalike design, opting to retain this winning formula for the V800.

Conversely, Geek Bar features a much blockier construction with a relatively unique design. Noticeably thicker than other square-shaped disposables, and with rounded edges and a tapered body, it’s instantly recognisable, which has surely helped it to stand out from the crowd. Both pens feature tapered, ergonomics mouthpieces, designed to maximise flavour and provide a rich and satisfying vape hit.

The difference here is a slightly bulkier, broader mouthpiece on the Geek Bar, where the V800 has a more narrow finish, tapered —on all four edges —into the classic “duckbill” style for improved comfort and satisfaction. The final point to note is the finish —and on this point the two could not be more different. A bold burst of vibrant colour, the Geek Bar features an eye-catching glossy finish that’s sure to stand out.

On the other hand, the V800 is all elegant refinement; an all-black mouthpiece and body in a matte finish, the V800 winks subtly at its winning pedigree with a single gold medal decal and a minimal coloured strip to denote its given flavour. Which vape looks best to you is of course entirely up to personal preference —go garish, or stay sharp? Up next, what may well be the deciding factor for most readers: flavour.

Flavour Comparison
V800 Vs Geek Bar

There’s a strong case to be made that the most important aspect of any vaping experience is the flavour.

Judging by the popularity of the Geek Bar, their flavours must be pretty good. Featuring a wide range of fruity and sweet flavours, often with an icy kick, these pens cast a wide enough net to satisfy most palates, throwing in straightforward Tobacco and Menthol options for good measure.

That being said, the Geek Bar is borne out of a hardware company, so they’re not really stepping up with the same e-liquid expertise.

Dinner Lady, on the other hand, are first and foremost a flavour brand; their early innovation in disposable vapes could be seen as a way of making their flavours accessible to a wider audience.

From square one, Dinner Lady have been amassing awards for their flavours; including a ‘Best Flavour’ award six years in a row for their signature Lemon Tart blend. Crafted in the UK to the highest standard, at their state of the art HQ, Dinner Lady e-liquid is a game changer. Chances are, once you’ve tried them, you won’t want to go back.

Although Geek Bar have a solid showing, their flavour range lacks pizzazz; most of their flavours can be seen across other disposable e-cigarette brands, which leads to them feeling somewhat generic. By contrast, the V800 disposable already has name-brand appeal, even for individual flavours. The V800 e-cigarette is optimised for an unrivalled disposable vape experience, bringing back iconic profiles like Lemon Tart and Black Orange Crush.

Dinner Lady who are after all known as the name to beat when it comes to flavour. Now that we’ve hopefully got your tastebuds twitching with anticipation, let’s look at how these devices perform.

Performance
V800 VS Geek Bar

As mentioned in the first section of this blog, both of these disposable vapes share some common ground.

They’re both prefilled with 2ml of 20mg-strength nic salts.

Most readers will be familiar with nic salts by now, but as a brief recap: compared to freebase nicotine, nicotine salts grant a smoother throat hit and deliver a vape hit that leans more toward flavour than vapour.

Crucially, nic salts deliver a nicotine kick that acts faster and lasts longer than freebase nicotine —all of which makes them ideal for new users looking to quit smoking, or for whenever you just need a quick pick-me-up while you’re out and about.

That said, though, while both the Geek Bar and the V800 disposable deliver pretty much the same experience —well, one does it with just a little more flair.

Dinner Lady V800 vs Geek Bar: Which is better?

There’s no doubt that Geek Bar have been a major player in the disposable vape sector for a while now, and Dinner Lady are of course both a long-standing and multi-award-winning e-liquid brand.

At the end of the day, which disposable vape is best for you depends on your priorities. Geek Bar is the child of a renowned hardware brand; the V800 comes from a leading flavour brand. As such, it’s no surprise that customers who value premium e-liquid and unique flavour above all else will want to check out the Dinner Lady V800.

Conversely, if you’re willing to let flavour play second fiddle to technological prowess and a well-oiled machine, the Geek Bar is definitely worth your money.
