E-cigarettes now more popular than regular cigarettes among US students.

E-Cigarettes Most Popular 'Tobacco' Product Among US Teenagers

E-cigarettes have become a bigger hit with US students than traditional cigarettes, according to new figures. Insanely, the report also classified e-cigarettes as tobacco product, despite not using tobacco whatsoever. Previously, Matthew Harper, Republican said non-tobacco products like e-cigarettes should not be defined as a tobacco product. After raising the vaping age, it had previously been reported that the imposed regulations backfired as more US teens had started smoking. But this doesn’t seem to have affected the unstoppable surge of e-cigs, as statistics from US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention show there are around 3 million teens vaping. CDC director, Dr Tom Frieden said the youth’s fascination with e-cigarettes is continuing to rise. “No form of youth tobacco use is safe. Nicotine is an addictive drug and use during adolescence may cause lasting harm to brain development.” This, if you believe the reports, equates to around a quarter of US high school students vaping. From 2011 to 2015, e-cigarette use among high school students rose from 1.5% to 16%, according to the report.
