E-Cigs Helped ‘Six Million Europeans Quit’
A revealing new study has found that e-cigs have helped approximately six million Europeans quit.
Moreover, the research has revealed that a further nine million Europeans have cut down on smoking thanks to vaping devices.
Dr Konstantinos Farsalinos, one of the most highly respected e-cigarette experts in the world, says the figures are very telling.
“These are probably the highest rates of smoking cessation and reduction ever observed in such a large population study.”
“The European Union data show that the use of electronic cigarettes seems to have a positive impact on public health for two main reasons -- high smoking cessation and reduction rates are observed, and electronic cigarette use is largely confined to smokers (current and former), with minimal use by non-smokers,” Farsalinos added.
The figures and facts were found by researchers who analysed data from the 2014 Eurobarometer that studied the use of cigarettes and e-cigs among 27,460 Europeans. Every country within the EU was represented in the study that found e-cigs have helped six million Europeans quit.
The survey also found minimal use among non-smokers.
The study by researchers only emphasises the majority of science’s findings – e-cigs are healthier than regular tobacco and have proven to help people quit.
Despite this evidence, the Food and Drug Administration in the United States are not holding back on e-cigs and have introduced their regulatory changes. It has been estimated that the changes could destroy 99% of the e-cig industry.
