The Ci2 includes several automatic safeguards designed to make charging rechargeable batteries more straightforward. Reverse polarity and short-circuit protection detect incorrectly installed or problematic cells, while overtime charging protection provides an additional layer of protection during extended charging cycles.
For vape batteries, always inspect the battery before charging. Do not use or charge a battery with a torn wrap, damaged insulation, dents or other visible damage. Insert each cell according to the polarity markings and only use rechargeable batteries that are within the charger manufacturer's stated compatibility range.

Fast USB-C Charging with QC & PD Support
The Nitecore Ci2 charger has a USB-C input capable of accepting up to 18W. When connected to a compatible Quick Charge or Power Delivery power source, Fast Charge Mode enables a maximum charging current of 3000mA with one battery or 1500mA per slot with two batteries.
With a standard power source, the charger operates at up to 2000mA with one battery or 1000mA per slot when two batteries are charging. Actual charging current is determined automatically according to the battery type, capacity and available input power.
Intelligent Dual-Slot Charging
Both charging bays on the Nitecore Ci2 operate independently. This means the charger monitors each inserted battery separately rather than treating both slots as a single charging channel.
Once a compatible battery is inserted, the Ci2 detects its type and power level before automatically selecting an appropriate charging voltage, charging current and charging method. Depending on the battery chemistry, it can automatically use constant current (CC), constant voltage (CV) or -dV/dt charging.
How to Use the Nitecore Ci2 Battery Charger
- Connect the charger: Connect the Nitecore Ci2 to a suitable USB power source using the supplied USB-C charging cable.
- Insert your battery: Place a compatible rechargeable battery into either charging slot, carefully following the positive (+) and negative (-) polarity markings.
- Allow automatic detection: The Ci2 will detect the battery and automatically select an appropriate charging current and mode.
- Check the indicators: The green LEDs flash during charging to indicate the approximate battery level.
- Fast Charge indication: A steady red indicator shows that the corresponding slot is operating in Fast Charge Mode.
- Wait for completion: Three steady green indicators show that charging is complete. The charger automatically terminates charging when the battery is full.
- Remove the battery: Disconnect or remove fully charged batteries when convenient and store them safely until required.
