With so many different vape brands releasing their own versions of prefilled pod kits lately, it’s been hard to keep up. But one pod kit in particular has managed to capture my undivided attention and become my go-to everyday vape— the SKE Crystal Plus.
SKE first hit the scene back in 2013, but they really hit the big time in 2022 with the release of their now iconic Crystal Bar disposable vape. With its unique shape and cool, crystalised exterior, the Crystal Bar craze spread like wildfire and won over the hearts and taste buds of vape fans everywhere— myself included.
So, of course, when I found out about a new SKE Crystal pod kit, I was desperate to try it out— and I wasn’t disappointed. The Crystal Plus quickly became my favourite device in my collection, and ten months after getting my hands on it, I still turn to it every single day— and I’m here to tell you why.
In this review, I’m going to provide a full breakdown of the SKE Crystal Plus; covering its key features, inner workings, design and pod flavours to help you decide if this pod kit has what it takes to help you out as much as it has helped me. So, let’s cut to the chase and dive right in!
SKE Crystal Plus Features
The Crystal Plus is what’s known as a prefilled pod kit, which means it is compatible with prefilled pods. So, with no e-liquid refills or messy coil changes to worry about, I simply attached my chosen Crystal Plus pod to the device thanks to the sturdy magnetic connection. Each SKE Crystal pod holds 2ml of nic salt e-liquid, which is around the same amount found inside your average disposable vape. But surprisingly, I find that SKE pods often last longer for me than a disposable would— this may be down to my individual vaping habits, but I’m certainly not complaining.
● 400mAh internal battery
● 2ml pod capacity
● Compatible with SKE Crystal Plus pods
● Magnetic connection
● 20mg nicotine strength
● 600 puffs per pod
The pods themselves are entirely transparent, which I’m a huge fan of as I can always keep an eye on how much I’m vaping and know when I’ll need a replacement to hand. The 2ml pod capacity paired with the 400mAh battery easily covers me for an entire day of vaping, so when I leave the house with my trusty Crystal Plus, I can rest assured that it won’t run out while I’m on the go.
As far as the actual vaping experience goes, I find the SKE Crystal to be incredibly satisfying. As an ex-smoker and disposable vape fan, I’m always on the lookout for a pod kit that can replicate the MTL sensation perfectly— and the Crystal Bar Plus does just that. The draw is more on the loose and airy side which makes the inhale entirely effortless, and the throat hit is insanely smooth yet satisfying enough to curb my cravings entirely.
Now that we’ve covered the inner workings, let’s turn our heads to the design.
SKE Crystal Plus Ergonomics & Design
As I’ve always been a big fan of Crystal Bar disposables, I was glad to see that they didn’t stray away from their unique design when bringing us the Crystal Plus. Complete with the same iconic transparent exterior that mimics a crystallised shell, this SKE vape is among the most eye-catching pod kits out there.
The transparent shell does mean that the entire device illuminates when inhaling, as the base LED light shines brightly through the device. While this is a pretty cool spectacle, it can be quite annoying when trying to vape discreetly in low-lit places.
● Slim, pen-style shape
● Comfortable duckbill mouthpiece
● Crystallised transparent casing
● Dimensions: 88 x 17 x 17mm
● Weight: 28g
The Crystal Plus truly looks identical to a disposable vape; it boasts the same slimline shape and compact dimensions, making it almost impossible for onlookers to tell the difference. The way that the pods magnetically snap into place means they sit flush with the device with no risk of accidentally coming loose. The mouthpiece itself is also identical to Crystal disposables, featuring a duckbill shape that sits comfortably in my mouth.
Moving on from the exterior, let’s take a look at what SKE Crystal flavours are on offer.
SKE Crystal Plus Flavours
One of the main reasons why I keep coming back to my Crystal Plus is because they make my favourite pod flavour; Watermelon Ice. I’m truly obsessed with it! Yes, I know other brands offer Watermelon Ice blends too, but the SKE version just hits the spot for me, serving up plenty of those sweet melon notes without too much menthol. But in total, SKE Crystal Pods are available in 15 different flavour profiles, and here’s a quick peek at the categories they fall into:
● Fruit
● Ice Fruit
● Soft Drink
● Sweets
While I rarely stray away from my trusty Watermelon Ice, for the purpose of this review, I did broaden my horizons by giving a few of the other blends a try too. Some honourable mentions include Cherry Ice and Cherry Strawberry Raspberry, but I was blown away by just how great their Strawberry Burst blend tasted. For those who enjoy the sweetness of fruit flavours without the menthol notes of “Ice” blends, it’s a surefire winner.
I also enjoyed their Fire Brew profile, which was a SKE Crystal take on the classic Irn Bru soft drink. I was drawn to it purely because I’ve never seen a vape flavour like it, but it was surprisingly delicious, complete with spicy fruit notes that taste just like the real thing. While these Crystal Bar Pods certainly aren’t lacking when it comes to exciting and fruit-themed blends, they don’t offer any classic flavours in this collection. So, if you prefer to stick to tobacco and mint profiles, this probably isn’t the right pod kit for you.
With that in mind, let’s turn our heads to the other products SKE has to offer.
SKE Crystal Ranges
As I mentioned earlier, the SKE Crystal Pod Kit isn’t the first SKE Crystal product to hit our shelves. The product that first brought this brand into the mainstream is the Crystal Bar, which was the first ever disposable vape they released. The Crystal Bar disposable is essentially identical to the Crystal Plus, sporting the same shape, design, and many of the same flavours however, it’s not reusable. Here’s a rundown of the different SKE Crystal products currently available:
● SKE Crystal Plus Pod Kit
● SKE Crystal Plus Pods
● SKE Crystal Bar Disposable Vape
● SKE Amare Crystal One Disposable Vape
Apart from the Crystal Bar, SKE also dropped a new line of disposables last year— the SKE Amare Crystal One. This compact disposable packs the same power and performance as the Crystal Bar range, but with a new matchbox shape that’s more pocket-sized and easier for on-the-go vaping. In terms of pod kits, the Crystal Plus is the only one available from SKE at this time.
SKE Crystal Plus Market Comparison
As I touched upon earlier, SKE is far from the only brand with a prefilled pod kit in its arsenal. Many disposable vape brands have decided to branch out into the realm of pod kits this year, and there are plenty of similarities to be found between them.
The first brand that springs to mind is Elf Bar. While Elf Bar has been making pod kits for a few years now, they hit the shelves yet again in 2023 with a new prefilled addition— the Elf Bar Elfa PRO. Much like the Crystal Plus, the Elfa PRO sports the exact same shape and design as its disposable counterpart, making it all that more appealing to disposable vape users seeking a longer-lasting alternative.
The Elfa PRO also offers up some new technology in the form of a QUAQ mesh coil. This new and improved coil is designed to provide more intense flavour for longer, and after trying out the Elfa PRO for myself, I certainly noticed a huge improvement over the original Elfa model.
While the Crystal Plus doesn’t feature a QUAQ mesh coil, you’d be forgiven for thinking that it does. When trying out these two pod kits side by side, the flavour quality and longevity was surprisingly almost identical. To find out more about how these prefilled pod kits compare, check out my SKE Crystal Plus Vs Elf Bar Elfa PRO blog.
Besides Elf Bar, there are plenty of other brands stepping into the prefilled pod kit space recently. With Lost Mary releasing their first ever pod kit device, the Lost Mary Tappo and FUYL dropping their first prefilled pod kit later this month, I’m keen to get my hands on them to see if they have what it takes to replace my trusty Crystal Plus.
With that in mind, it’s time for my verdict!

SKE Crystal Plus Verdict
In case you haven’t noticed— I’m a huge fan of the SKE Crystal Plus. There was a time when I truly thought I would never be able to move away from disposable vapes, as no pod kit was able to recreate the same powerful flavour and satisfying draw. But all that changed when I got my hands on the Crystal Plus.
As is the nature of reviewing vape kits, I’ve tried out a lot of prefilled pod kits lately, but none has won me over quite like the Crystal Plus. To me, the overall design is perfect; I love how it looks identical to their Crystal Bar disposable vape line and doesn’t weigh me down when I’m out and about. The transparent exterior paired with a colourful metal interior makes it one of the most attractive pod kits out there, without looking too tacky or garish.
My favourite aspect of the Crystal Plus has to be the vape sensation it provides. Unlike many other prefilled pod kits, the SKE Crystal retains the same loose and airy vape as a disposable, and as someone who isn’t a big fan of tighter draws, this is a huge plus for me.
The flavours are also some of the tastiest I’ve ever tried, and even when my Crystal pod is running low, the flavour never seems to diminish. Not only do they make (in my opinion) the best Watermelon Ice blend on the market, but they also serve up 14 other blends to choose from. Granted, this isn’t the largest prefilled pod collection I’ve ever seen, but it certainly covers most bases in terms of flavour categories.
Whether you’re a diehard disposable vape fan and want to give a more sustainable kit a try, or maybe you’ve tried other prefilled pod kits but they haven’t provided the same satisfying experience as a disposable, I highly recommend giving the Crystal Plus a whirl. At just £7.99, this pod kit costs a little more than your average disposable, and who knows— it might just become your new go-to vape kit.
