Elf Bar has been dominating the disposable vape scene for a number of years now, and the success of their flagship Elf Bar 600 device is nothing short of astonishing. But not being one to shy away from change, Elf Bar is evolving, and the release of their upgraded Elf Bar 600 V2 device already has everybody talking.

But Elf Bar is far from the only brand with a new disposable vape offering for 2023. Enter FUYL 600— the latest disposable device from the popular British brand, Dinner Lady. The new FUYL device is already making huge waves in the industry and seems to be flying off the shelves up and down the country— but does it have what it takes to compete with the new Elf Bar V2? Well, that’s what I’m here to find out.

After trying out both devices and putting them to the test, I’m ready to provide an inside scoop. This comparison review will delve into the essential features, design, performance, and flavour selection offered by each brand to help you determine which device is best suited for you and your lifestyle. Without further ado, let's get started!

Elf Bar 600 V2 Features

Elf Bar 600 V2

  • Puff Count: 600
  • Battery Size: 360mAh
  • Nicotine Strength: 20mg
  • E-Liquid Capacity: 2ml
  • Coil Type: QUAQ Mesh

Features Comparison

When it comes down to specifications, the FUYL 600 and Elf Bar 600 have a lot in common. As expected, both devices feature a 2ml e-liquid capacity and a strong 20mg (2%) nic salt formula, which is the maximum nicotine content allowed in a disposable vape under UK law. But when it comes down to battery size, these devices couldn’t be more different.

While the FUYL 600 disposable vape features an ample 500mAh battery, the Elf Bar V2 has a battery capacity of just 360mAh, which I was worried about. But surprisingly, despite the Elf Bar vape sporting a smaller battery, I found that both devices had a pretty identical lifespan and kept me covered for an entire day of vaping.

If I had to hazard a guess, I think the extended lifespan of the Elf Bar V2 comes down to its QUAQ mesh coil. This new coil technology promises stronger flavour potency and even e-liquid absorption, and it seemed to deliver just that. While the flavour provided by the FUYL 600 disposable was undeniably delicious, the last few puffs were a little lacklustre in terms of potency, but this is pretty standard with disposable vapes that don’t feature a QUAQ mesh coil.

But in terms of performance, I found that both the FUYL vape and Elf Bar V2 provided a very similar draw— one that is loose, light and airy. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience both devices provided and I found them to be surprisingly similar. So, let’s move on to design and ergonomics to see if we can find some differences.

Elf Bar 600 V2 Ergonomics & Design

Elf Bar 600 V2

  • Shiny metallic exterior
  • Size: 15 x 17 x 103mm
  • Cylindrical, pen-style shape

Ergonomics & Design Comparison

After removing both devices from their packaging and sitting them side by side, it was clear to see that these disposable vapes couldn’t be more different and each brand has opted for an entirely different style.

I was glad to see that Elf Bar has stuck with the same shape and size as the original Elf Bar 600, sporting a slimline pen-style design that’s become synonymous with Elf Bar vapes. However, this new and improved version features a different exterior, opting for a shiny metallic finish over their usual rubberised casing. While I’m a fan of the new look and how it helps it to be somewhat differentiable from the original, this new shiny exterior slightly impacted the grip and made it a little trickier to hold in my palm for long periods.

Straying away from familiar designs, FUYL 600 disposable vapes look truly unlike any device I’ve seen before, but in the best way possible! I’m a massive fan of matchbox-style vapes, but FUYL takes this shape to a whole new level of luxury with the inclusion of a transparent crystal-cut shell that’s undeniably eye-catching. And surprisingly, despite its intricate shape, I found the FUYL vape incredibly comfortable and lightweight to hold. With so many pen-style disposable vapes on the market that often look identical, the FUYL disposable is refreshingly unique.

Moving on from the exterior, let’s find out what flavours each brand has to offer!

Flavour Comparison

As both Elf Bar and Dinner Lady are world-famous for their trailblazing flavour profiles, I was particularly excited to see how their selections compared. As the Elf Bar V2 is set to eventually replace the original Elf Bar 600 entirely, the brand wasted no time and made this new device available in 28 different flavours right off the bat.

I was glad to see a great selection of fan-favourite blends such as Blue Razz Lemonade and Elfbull Ice, as well as some new additions like Grape Raspberry and P&B Cloudd, which can’t be found anywhere else. However, I did notice a severe lack of classic blends available, with not a single tobacco-themed profile in their lineup. So while this Elf Bar disposable vape range is perfect for fans of exciting and sweet flavours, it’s certainly not designed for more traditional palates.

Dinner Lady is well-known for their unique and delicious e-liquid flavours, so I was glad to see some familiar favourites in the FUYL disposable vape lineup, including the award-winning Lemon Tart blend. While FUYL disposables are only available in 14 different blends, considerably less than the V2 has to offer, they’ve made the effort to include some stripped-back tobacco and mint-themed profiles. Plus, I’m sure given the popularity of FUYL vapes, we can expect to see new flavours added soon.

Elf Bar Vs FUYL Disposable Vape Ranges

As Elf Bar was one of the first vape brands to attain global success, it should come as no surprise to learn that the Elf Bar 600 range is far from their only disposable vape collection. Over the years, Elf Bar has tested the waters and released multiple different devices— some more successful than others— including the Elf Bar Cigalike and now-discontinued T600 and NC600 devices. But when it comes to Elf Bar disposables, the Elf Bar 600 range stands unparalleled in both popularity and success.

Dinner Lady was an early pioneer in disposable vapes, but it was with the launch of their Vape Pen 2 series that they truly established a strong presence in the industry. The success of the Dinner Lady vape pen led to the release of further disposable vapes including the Vape Pen Pro and the now-discontinued V800.

But the FUYL 600 disposable vape is the first of its kind; all other Dinner Lady disposables have featured a classic, slimline shape and followed the regular disposable vape mould that we see everywhere. With the release of the FUYL 600 disposable and its unique style, FUYL has quickly become a brand in its own right, and I’m excited to see what it brings to the table next.

Elf Bar 600 V2 Vs FUYL 600 Market Comparison

Elf Bar 600 V2 Vs FUYL 600 Market Comparison

To gain a deeper understanding of how these two disposables perform, it’s important to put them into perspective and assess how they stack up against the current disposable vape market as a whole, especially as so many brands are releasing upgraded devices at the moment.

One such brand that has just released a new and improved version of an older device is Lost Mary. Remember the Lost Mary BM600, the matchbox-style vape that became an instant bestseller? Well, taking the same approach as Elf Bar, Lost Mary has released the BM600S which is essentially identical to the original BM600 with the addition of a QUAQ mesh coil. After trying out multiple QUAQ mesh devices lately, I must admit that I quite like it. Somehow, it makes the feel of each draw far lighter and airier, which I like, and it does seem to actually improve the lifespan of the device. With that in mind, I hope to see more brands taking on this new coil technology in future.

Another disposable worth mentioning here is the SKE Crystal Bar. When I first laid eyes on the FUYL 600 and its crystallised exterior, I couldn’t help but draw comparisons to the Crystal Bar. While both devices have opted for a transparent, crystal-like shell that’s undeniably attractive, Crystal Bar has stuck to the familiar pen-style shape, which is great for those wanting to stick to what they know. Offering something totally unique, the FUYL 600’s boxy shape and gem-cut design is truly one of a kind, making it a great device for those seeking something entirely new and fresh.

Elf Bar 600 V2 Vs FUYL 600 Verdict

Elf Bar 600 V2 Vs FUYL 600 Verdict

After trying out both the Elf Bar 600V2 and FUYL 600 disposable vapes for myself, I can safely say that I thoroughly enjoyed my time with both of them. While they certainly served up slightly different experiences, both devices can be considered high-quality disposable vapes.

In terms of key features, these disposables were actually pretty similar. Despite the smaller battery size found inside the Elf Bar V2, I really didn’t notice much of a difference in terms of lifespan. The QUAQ mesh coil found in the V2 made for a light and airy draw, which I must admit is far more satisfying than the original Elf Bar 600.

Although FUYL 600 disposables don’t include a QUAQ mesh coil, I really couldn’t tell! The inhale from both devices was incredibly similar; smooth, light, and effortless, if a little loud at times. However, one telltale sign that the FUYL lacked a QUAQ mesh coil was the slight deterioration of flavour during the final few puffs, which is something I didn’t experience at all when using the Elf Bar V2.

The real differences lie in the design. While I like the fact that Elf Bar has stuck to their familiar pen-style design with the V2, it definitely didn’t excite me as much as the FUYL 600 did. The design of the FUYL 600 is pretty special, and in my opinion, more attractive overall than any disposable vape Elf Bar has released. But of course, if you’re a die-hard fan of the slimline, pen-style vape, you won’t find a better disposable than the Elf Bar V2.

Both brands offer a great array of flavours including sweet and fruit-themed blends; and although the V2 offers more flavours to choose from, they don’t serve up any classic tobacco blends, which FUYL does. If you’re struggling to choose between the Elf Bar V2 and FUYL disposables, the key things to consider are the aesthetics and the flavour selection and work out which device aligns most with your preferences. But trust me, you’re going to have a great experience no matter which of these disposables you choose.
